Lutein and Zeaxanthin are antioxidant carotenoids naturally present in the eye in significant concentrations. The formulation of this supplement balances Lutein and Zeaxanthin to provide support for our eyes, with 10 mg of Lutein per capsule and 2 mg of Zeaxanthin per capsule.

Lutein and Zeaxanthin naturally act as filters within our eyes. They protect us from blue light. Blue light, primarily emitted by modern devices and screens, has the ability to penetrate deep into the eye if there is no protective filter.

These compounds are found in various plant-based foods, such as spinach, kale, and corn. Adequate intake through diet or supplementation helps ensure their proper presence in the body. The human body is not capable of producing them on its own.

Although not yet approved by EFSA, studies are underway to demonstrate how a decrease in Lutein and Zeaxanthin in the body may result in:

- A decrease in macular pigment density, which acts as a natural filter for blue light.

- Greater exposure to oxidative stress in the retina (since these carotenoids are powerful antioxidants).

- Reduced protection of the macula, linked to aging of the eye.
